About Me
Subomi Plumptre helps the most competent & creative leaders achieve their missions. She does so through her role as co-founder of Volition Cap, a fund management firm and Sonderplace, an accelerator.
An ardent Social Entrepreneur, Subomi designed a fund management model that leverages investment clubs and remittance investing. Her innovative approach earned her a license from the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission, making her one of a few female CEOs in the asset management industry.
Subomi also helps the world's most brilliant founders bring their missions to life through her flagship accelerator.
Before her entrepreneurship journey, Subomi was a respected strategy and branding expert with over 20 years of experience. She reached the pinnacle of her marketing career as a Director at Alder Consulting where she curated Africa's first research-based social media and brand reports. She was team lead on high-level projects, including the rebranding programs of the Federal Ministries of Education, Foreign Affairs and Mines & Steel Development, as well as marketing campaigns for GTBank and First Bank.
Subomi has published a White Paper on African and Diasporan wealth gaps, and three books on other subjects. She is an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Lagos, with a specialization in entrepreneurship.
Subomi's work has been featured by CNN, Forbes, Inc and The Guardian News. She is a Gates Foundation Goalkeeper, Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Resident, CSC Leader, GIFEW Award winner, 100 Women Impacting Africa honoree, TEDx speaker, Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) mentor and an Acumen Fellow.
Subomi is a global entrepreneur who has built businesses across jurisdictions and continents. Her foundation, The Subomi Plumptre Trust, addresses challenges in education and culture.
